Geschichte:
The Coast Salish First Nation, in particular the shishalh band lived in the area for over 5,000 years. The neighboring ocean front town Sechelt inherited their traditional name sake.
By the 1700's by the Spanish explorers, Captain Galiano and Captain Valdes, and the British explorer, Captain George Vancouver, had permeated these coastal waters in search of new land and trading routes..
