Geschichte: The little community of Windermere has been active since 1880 and name by Gilbert Malcolm Sproat. It was originally served by paddle-wheelers bring across the lake supplies and hopeful settlers. Many of the first white settlers arrived to pan for gold, farm, raise cattle, or while transporting goods to other regions. Today, only a few building remain in tact but the historical spirit is certainly present.
