Lumby was an original settlement for the farmers and miners. These adventurous pioneers invested in the land’s riches and superb climate. Today, logging and farming thrives and keeps this abundant land open to recreational and outdoors enthusiasts. Murals, painted by various local artists, around Lumby depict some of the towns logging, mining and cultural history. The back drop of snow capped mountains, nearby falls, parks’ wildflower meadows and old-growth fir, spruce and fir trees create great photographic and wildlife sighting opportunities. Keep your eyes and ears open, you may just find Bald Eagles, Osprey, loons, deer, or (hopefully only a glimpse of) a Black Bear.
