Located on the southern end of Vancouver Island, the District of Langford is a young and growing community of nearly 19,000 residents. It offers affordable housing and a wide range of services and amenities. Trails, lakes and parks offer visitors the chance to get out on their own or plan a day of sight seeing around the city since Victoria is very intricate and close nothing is more than 35 minutes drive away.

Geschichte:
As much of the lower Vancouver Island First Nations Tribes made the area home for thousands of years prior to the first white settlers, Langford and the neighbouring West Shore Communities were coastal fishing grounds and shelter to the Salish tribe members, Songhee.

The community of Langford is named after Captain Edward Langford, who became a prominent farmer after his arrival on the Hudson Bay's ship the Tory 1851 and later the areas bailiff until he returned to England in 1961.
