British Columbia Travel Guide
The unofficial BC Travel & Tourism Guide
A respected community of fishermen, laborers and artists, Deep Bay is home to many who have learned of the fantastic coastal lifestyle that makes Vancouver Island so popular. Deep is located among Lighthouse Country, a grouping of small village communities along the islands east shores (mid-island). The sea life here presents fantastic birdwatching, ocean kayaking, wildlife viewing (seals, sea lions, porpoise, and sometimes orca), plus a chance to relax on the beach or on a motorboat.

Deep Bay is only a few minutes drive to the popular Horn Lake Caves. Tours are available and recommended. Provincial parks throughout the area are easily discovered by posted road signs and lead to terrific old growth forests, waterfalls, lakes, fish hatcheries, picnic grounds, public camp grounds and estuaries.

Artists with open studios are also indicated by road sign - blue and a capital "A". Regular business hours should be respected. Otherwise, shops, restaurants and cafes often feature local works.
