House of Blues, 30 in x 40 in, oil on canvas. Painting of the habour in Charleston, South Carolina. The blues music poured over the salt marsh, mesmerizing me. I fell in love with this beautiful scene.
The Dirty Dozen. Acrylic on canvas. There were 12 pots on the wall, then one went missing. Murdered by it neighbour strychnos nux-vomica. Even though all the other seedlings have poisonous parts strychnos is on the A list of killers and won't stop until it has the sunny wall all to itself.
Canned Salmon #2 8in x 24 in mixed media. The beautiful head of the salmon is created from an antique chromed brass air vent off of old boats and the scales are used lids from canned salmon tins. Humpback Whale. Acyrlic on plaster and board. 8 in x 24 in
Fishing out in the Strait of Juan de Fuca I see whales from time to time. They are such a surprise when they surface close to the boat in such a quiet gentle way. I have captured a serene take on fin, humpback and sperm whales.
Bull Kelp at Slack Tide. 24 in x 24 in Acrylic on plaster and board. I Live on the ocean's edge where the giant bull kelp is plentiful. I love to watch how it moves in the water and swirls like a beautiful ballet in the slack tide.
