Coated by the splendor of large native trees; Western Red cedar, Nootka Cypress, Shore Pine, Western Hemlock, Mountain Hemlock and Red alder, Graham Island hosts some spectacular wilderness trails, park lands, and oceanfront walks leading directly out of the forest to the shore.
The area is a bird lovers paradise. A large percent of nesting seabirds live on Graham Island, which includes one third of British Columbia's peregrine falcon population. Several other birds and creatures live in this secluded wild terrain; bald eagles, black bears, deer and raccoon to name a few.
The Queen Charlotte Islands is host to other major marine and river activity. The major salmon runs each fall are popular among man, bear and eagle! The diverse inter-tidal critters, urchins, starfish, varieties of shellfish, and crab all collect turning the oceans turning. The abundant life here attracts other larger creatures; British Columbia's largest Stellar sea lion population, harbour seals, whales (hump-back and orca), dolphin, and porpoises.
There is a unique 'Sandspit', on Moresby Island, and the 'Old Masset', on Graham Island which connects these two main islands.
Air and ferry service to Graham Island can be accessed out of Prince Rupert on the mainland of British Columbia.
