The romantic visions of green islands peaking from the deep blue oceans are also home to a variety of wildlife that comb the shores of many of the islands in the area. Seals, sea lions, otters, porpoise, whales, eagles, salmon, shellfish, and crabs frequent the area and create multiple opportunities for visitors to see them in their natural habitat.

Kayaking and canoeing around the shore line is also a terrific way to experience the peaceful surroundings, power of the ocean, and great natural nooks and crannies that line Salt Spring's northern waterfront.
