Sportsmen can enjoy fly fishing, casting, trolling, or ice fishing in winter. Be sure to visit Cascade Falls, located on the Kettle River for the stunning, dynamic force they produce in Spring and Autumn as the pound the rocks and potholes below.
Boundary Country includes several historical communities, valleys and water ways; Christina Lake, Kettle River, West Kettle River, Granby River, Boundary Creek, and several smaller tributaries flowing from the Monashee Mountains.
Christina Lake Village is modest, quaint and has most amenities guests require including the "on the road" grocery supplies. The locals are welcoming and enjoy entertaining guests. Village pubs, taverns, dining, and ice cream stops can suffice just about any thirst visitors work up or need to cool off.

Geschichte:
The interior Sinixt First Nations, otherwise known as the Arrow Lakes People resided in and around Christina lake for thousands of years. These areas, Christina Lake and Kettle River, were important fishing grounds. Today, markings, First Nations pictographs, on the stone faces of the northeastern corners of Christina Lake can be seen at several locations.
Christina Lake was actually named after Christina McDonald, daughter of the fur trader Angus McDonald, who ran one of the Hudson's Bay Company stations in the late 1800's.
Boundary Country itself did not develop until the early 1800's. Cascade (near present day Christina lake) and surrounding area saw the construction of the railway in 1899 bring more settlers, the powerhouse go up, and fires bring destruction which created some rebuilding.
By the 1950's Christina lake became a regular recreational destination for neighboring towns and cities and start up with a few hotels and cabins.
In the early 1900's, Christina Lake was in full swing and provided summer cottages, fishing, swimming and other recreation to residents from all around, including the big city of the time Grand Forks.
