Geschichte:
Central Saanich was the original home and a popular summer hunting and fishing ground on the Peninsula for the First Nations Saanich tribes - the Tsawout and Tsartlip.

In the early 1800's, Central Saanich developed into a rich agricultural area. The motto on the crest of the municipality reads "Land of Plenty".
